ARE THERE ANY PROPHETS of the Lord? A prophet that will only speak what God says and doesn’t care what others think? Or about tickling the ears of his listeners? “And Jehoshaphat said, “ Is there not still a prophet of the LORD here, that we may inquire of Him?”
So the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “ There is still one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of the LORD; but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” And Jehoshaphat said, “Let not the king say such things!”” I Kings 22:7-8 Ahab was an evil king and God was not pleased with him. Micaiah would not tickle his ears, even though hundreds “prophesied” good things to the king.
Micaiah stood alone in a sea of deception. What happened? When did the prophet start prophesying only good? What changed? Certainly not God. On people, have compassion. But our message must be merciless. Lawlessness abounds. God doesn’t mince words, “David, you’re the man!” He doesn’t need you or I making His Words pleasant and easy to digest, “Because you are lukewarm, I will vomit you out of my mouth”.
The Holy Spirit is not the self-esteem fairy. Humanity hasn’t changed in thousands of years. We need a Savior not a sycophant. “There is none that doeth good, no not one.” You must repent and die to your selfish ways, “narrow is the path that leads to eternal life and their are few that find it”. His grace is still sufficient. The prophet was always lonely because he stood as a lone voice crying in the wilderness. Is there not still a prophet? #runyourrace
