TO THE PURE ALL THINGS ARE PURE.
Paul was quoting our Lord, and was addressing specifically in Titus the “all things” as relating to Christian principles which have no moral character- food, drink, Sabbath day, etc. Yet, the spiritual principle still remains, “the pure in heart, see and act purely”.
It’s funny to me how one day someone can declare their undying love and devotion to you, and the next day you’re a lying scoundrel and a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Huh? Please tell me how this works? I suppose it’s like the crowd who followed Jesus- they most assuredly loved Him, until He said something that offended them, “When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you?” John 6:61 Some even turned away from following Him. Why? Their heart was not pure. To the pure, all things are pure, even the difficult and hard to understand things. To the pure in heart, there’s no guile in another’s actions and words, they believe the best.
The pure in heart do not falsely accuse. The pure in heart seek to know another’s mind, motives and principles, and do not react harshly. Why? Because their own heart has been purified. “To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.” Titus 1:15 Has your heart been defiled by the lies of the enemy? Are you purified from pride, self-will, discontent, impatience, anger, malice, envy, covetousness, ambition? Are your motives pure?? What voices are you giving ear to? You’ll never see purity in another if your heart is not pure. Guard your heart with all diligence! ”Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” #runyourrace
