HOW DO YOU RESPOND WHEN GOING through adversity? No one is immune. In this life, you will have tribulations. What comes out of you when you are squeezed? I see a lot of people break down and freak out. I see some post all over FB wanting sympathy. I see some get angry and bitter and lose faith. What was in you is coming out. Affliction is the great divider. Yet, I’ve seen some turn to God and cling to His throne with every ounce of their being.
A few years ago, Matt and I went to the hospital to visit a lady that just had surgery. We left and while we were walking down the hall, we saw a lady in another room with an oxygen mask over her mouth, tears streaming down her face, sitting up in her bed with her arms lifted high towards heaven and we heard her shouting, “Praise Jesus! I love you Lord! You are a good God! Hallelujah!”
I teared up and thought, “Now there’s a lady who knows Jesus!” What this lady knew was that Jesus was her only Comforter. He was her Help and her Strong tower and that no matter what was going on with her body, no matter what sickness or trial she was going through that He is still good and He’s still God. (I bet you she knows how to comfort others in their affliction.) This is the heart of one who knows the Lord, “And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD.”” Job 1:21
When everything was taken from Job- his livelihood, his family, his wealth and his health- He fell down and worshiped the Lord. Where else can you go? He is the only One with all the answers. He is the only One who brings true healing. He is the One and only Comforter.
If you are going through the fire today, I pray that you lift His name on high and run to Jesus to be comforted., “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”II Corinthians 1:3-4 NKJVGive Him praise for His goodness! He’s a good God and He will comfort you and see you through to victory, in Jesus’ name! And then, you can comfort others and lead them to victory. #runyourrace
