I AM A RUNNER. I try to run a minimum of 20 miles per week. Now, I abhor running on a treadmill, which means I am regulated to running outdoors. I had a friend from TX ask me if I ran in the rain to which I replied, “Girl, I live in Seattle. If I didn’t run in the rain, I’d never run!” My neighbors think I am crazy, but it’s ok. I am a peculiar person.
Listen, your race is not always going to be on a perfect 70 degree sunny day. Sometimes your race will be in the rain. “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,” Hebrews 12:1 Often it is raining hard and the wind blows contrary to your run- keep going, your endurance is being developed. Your toes will get wet, cold and numb, but keep running your race. Endurance is necessary.
You will get warmed up if you keep moving and God will give you a rhythm in the rain. ENDURANCE- the fact or power of enduring an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way. Trust me, this leg of your race will not last forever. Keep going my friend look to Jesus for your strength. He’s cheering you on, “Rise up. You can keep going. I am with you! Don’t stop!” Endurance is built over time. He knows your struggle with every step and He’s got you in His hands. Just keep running. People think you’re crazy, you are and its ok. This morning it’s 23 degrees. It’s literally freezing, but I’m putting on my running shoes. #runyourrace
