RUN CLOCKWISE!! So for some odd reason (maybe because I am an oddball) I run clockwise on a track or loop. This is abnormal because every track race, car race or bike race is ran counterclockwise. Watch a NASCAR event, they race counterclockwise.

But I don’t run counterclockwise. I run countercultural. Today in particular, it was 82 degrees and 75% humidity on my run and on the hottest side of the loop, the sun was smack dab in my face. I also found myself running against the wind. Everyone else out there was walking the “normal” track direction. I was the literally the only one running clockwise. It was a hard run today. But running countercultural is difficult most days. It’s not always fun and it’s rarely easy. It’s hard. It’s uncomfortable. The scorching sun is in your face and there are real forces working against you and most people will hate you. BUT GOD is for you!

On days like this, you have to remember that this world is not your home and you are just a pilgrim passing through. “If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” John‬ ‭15:19‬ ‭I would rather be hated by the world and accepted with God than gain the whole world and lose my soul.  #runyourrace
