SATAN COMES

SATAN COMES

“And the LORD said to Satan, “From where do you come?” So Satan answered the LORD and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it.””
‭‭Job‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There’s nothing new under the sun, the devil does the same thing today as he’s always done. He walks to and fro across the earth, observing and seeking opportunity to do harm. I once heard a woman claiming to be a Christian say “I don’t believe in the devil, therefore he has no power”. This is NOT true. We serve an all-powerful God, yes, but the downfall of many great warriors came because they underestimated their enemy.

Look at the story of Job, it was the power of the enemy that destroyed Job’s possessions and health. Satan incited the raiders to steal his livestock, he called down fire to burn up his servants and other livestock, and he brought the wind that collapsed the house upon his children. The Bible describes him as “the prince of the power of the air” (Eph. 2:2), and with permission from God he uses his power to destroy everything Job has. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” ‭‭(I Pet. 5:8‬). Yes, he has real power and can do real damage, but we serve the Almighty God!

God set the boundaries on how far he could go and to what extent he could harm. God tells the oceans and the enemy “You may only go this far”. One of the greatest lessons I took away from the book of Job was this: God was always in control, at no point was Job out of His hands. When we rest in the shadow of the Almighty, we have nothing to fear.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23:4‬ #CalledtoBattle
