I GET IT. EVERYONE wants to be encouraged. But today’s Christians really don’t want the Bible’s way of encouragement, they want to tickle their ears and be entertained, “Tell me things that make me feel good”. It’s encouragement for their feelings and emotions. And these are not the same. “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.” Psalms‬ ‭19:7-9‬

‭The statutes of God- His ways, His laws, His precepts, His commandments rejoice the HEART, give light to the EYES and water to the SOUL. THIS is the true and wise encouragement from above. THIS is the only way to satisfy your hunger and quench your thirst. If you are not getting the fullness of His Word, you’re not really being encouraged. You’re emotions are just being stoked. You may feel good for a time, but when tribulation arises; you have no Word in you, no root and your heart will sink in depression.

The worldly preachers tell you “you’re good”; The Word says there’s no goodness in you but what Christ gives. God’s will is your sanctification, not for you to “find yourself”, but die to yourself and live for His glory. The encouragement you so desire is not found in who you are but in WHOSE you are. Subject yourself to His Word and your soul will be filled with encouragement!
