“So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.”Luke 5:16
You make time for the things you love. How often do we make time in our busy schedules to seek God in prayer? Jesus didn’t simply step into the next room for some quick alone time with the Lord, He withdrew into the wilderness. That takes time and intentionality, and scripture says “He Himself OFTEN withdrew”, He stepped away from the multitudes that followed Him to seek the One who matters most.
If you aren’t seeking direction from God daily for your life, are you truly on the path you were called to? If you aren’t seeking to be in His presence daily, can you be certain you will hear “well done, good and faithful servant”? It can be difficult to set aside the business, the chores, the needs and wants. It may feel as though the work is endless, the needs of the people around you overwhelming, the list of to-dos a mile long.
Seek first the kingdom of God AND His righteousness, everything else will be taken care of. Seek His kingdom and His righteousness, many do the former and neglect the latter, but you will not gain the one without the other. He knows your needs, your work, your lists, and everything else that weighs on you. He knows you, rest assured. Do you know Him?
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”Matthew 6:33
