ARE YOU A “STRONG” Christian? I was talking to someone they other day and they made a comment about a mutual acquaintance and said he was a “strong Christian”. Yet he supported a lifestyle contrary to God’s Word. If you support lifestyles and doctrines contrary to God’s Word, then the “christ” you claim to be in is a made up “christ”. The Bible makes it clear that being strong, is not in you or in your strength, but in His strength. “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” Ephesians 6:10 Strength is found in our weakness, “For when I am weak, THEN I am strong. For His strength is made perfect in my weakness”. God doesn’t take pleasure in the “strength of man”, but rather in your submission to Him and your surrender to His ways. He never asks of you anything He’s unwilling to give and He never gives anything He doesn’t expect you to use. He doesn’t ask you to go forth in your might, but in His might. He proclaims the victory when you lay down your life. Grace is only effective when your faith IN HIM is activated and in humility you proclaim your inability and insufficiency and He gives more grace to the humble. You are not enough, but He is more than enough. Are you really relying on Him, or on yourself? A STRONG Christian has her hands gripped tightly to the throne of grace and never lets go of Jesus or His Word.
