It’s popular Christianese to say, “I’m saved by grace so I do not have to obey!” Ok. Well then I would challenge you to ask yourself, who are you following and whom do you love? We follow that which we love. Did not Jesus say, “If you love Me, then you’d obey Me”?

Obedience is not a form of legalism, it’s an act of salvation. It’s a by-product of a Spirit-filled life that has crucified the old man of flesh and put on the new man according to the Spirit. We do not obey God’s Word and ways to be saved for there is no salvation outside the atoning blood of Christ; we are saved in Christ alone and BECAUSE of His great sacrifice we then can obey God’s Word and ways. The Spirit’s Will is to obey the Father.

Obedience is the FRUIT of a Spirit-led life. If you say, “I love God”, but you follow your own selfish desires; then you make yourself a liar. “By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.” I John‬ ‭5:2-3‬ ‭A life lived as a crucified man who follows Jesus in all HIS ways IS a life of freedom.  #runyourrace
