“TEACH ME YOUR WAY, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.” Psalm 86:11 “The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.” Proverbs 8:13 But how do we begin to even pray to understand that “the fear of the Lord is the hatred of evil”? It begins by asking Him to unite our hearts to cherish Him. Teach me Your way.
When we truly love Him, we will hate evil. When we truly cherish the Lamb of God and His finished work on the cross, we will hate evil. When we are enraptured with His righteousness, we will hate evil. When His broken body and bloody death are all we can see, we will hate evil. When the Darling of Heaven is the apple of our eye, we will hate evil. When we cherish the Holy Spirit like none other, we will hate evil. When we are so associated with His kingdom, we will hate evil. When we admonish and adore His Word, laws and precepts, we will hate evil. When all your heart cherish’s all of Him, you will hate evil.
There’s no other alternative but to hate evil. To be so enraptured with His beauty and magnificence, and to cherish His presence and ways above all creatures; you will love what He loves and hates what He hates because your eyes will see out of a pure heart. You will see like He sees. You will hate when sin spoils the Body and will cringe when another abuses and tramples on the Blood. You will grieve over apostasy and mourn over the apostates.
The psalmist cries out, “Teach me Your way!” It’s a heart that wants nothing else but to be united with His Lord. Nothing else will do. Nothing else matters. Take the whole world and just give me Jesus, to know Him and be acquainted with His sufferings. This one guards the heart of the Body of Christ and is a watchman over His sheep with fervor. Is this your heart’s cry?#runyourrace
