IF I HAD A DIME FOR EVERY TIME I heard someone say, “you just don’t understand my pain”; I’d be a millionaire. I was sitting talking with a lady one time and she shared the horrible abuse she suffered as a child and she says to me, “but you wouldn’t understand”. Hence, “you can’t help me”, hence “nobody can help me cause nobody knows my pain.” It’s the LT Dan moment, “Do you know what it’s like to not be able to use your legs!?” Yes I do LT Dan.
Just because you see me walking now, don’t assume I’ve never not been able to use my legs. Just because my legs weren’t blown off in war, don’t assume they weren’t cut down in another awful way. Nobody and I repeat nobody doesn’t have some sort of story of pain, abuse, affliction, abandonment, rejection or persecution.
I don’t have to go through your experience to know I’ve experienced some intense pain in my life. There’s no lasting solution or plan save one- sit and stay at the feet of Jesus. If your “plan” causes you to rely on a humanistic plan or another person for healing; you’re believing a lie. I get the saying, “hurting people hurt people”; but often times people are just mean, rude, self centered and egotistical.
We are living in the latter days and evil men are prevalent and will be in a greater abundance. Let me shatter your world for a minute. The Bible presents people in a vary stark and black-or-white manner: they are either saved or not saved; cleansed or still in their filth; renewed or still lawless; healed or still sick; whole or still broken.
There is no where in Scripture that proclaims someone is a new creation in Christ and still broken. There is also no where in Scripture that reveals someone too broken that the Lord cannot heal them, or that they needed “extra” outside-of-Jesus therapy to be healed, or that Jesus could not help them.
In fact, the apostles preached Jesus and the power of the Spirit to overcome. They didn’t sit and counsel with someone for weeks, they preached, “Come to Jesus and be healed”. They preached, “die to yourself” and “walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh”. A lot of your brokenness is stemming from the lusts and sinful desires of your flesh. Your pride and ego has been wounded and your selfish desires have been bruised.
The problem is never with the power of God to make whole and it’s most certainly not with the power of the gospel to restore a man. No. It lies within us. We lack faith. We mix the pure word of God with worldly philosophy. We believe our brokenness is beyond the Master’s reach. We erroneously believe we have experienced too much pain to be made whole. In short, we lack a belief in God and His Word. At least be honest with yourself.
There’s nothing new under the sun. There’s no new sin, no new depth of brokenness, no new abuse or rejection from man that those in Biblical days did not experience. You are believing your own lies. You lack faith in an Almighty and All powerful God.
The only true and lasting healing comes from sitting in His presence, presenting yourself as a living sacrifice and renewing your mind to His Word. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2 )
Then, and only then, all things are possible and all things can be overcome. Yet, most do not want to lay themselves on the altar. You cannot be transformed if you do not submit to the altar of sacrifice. Many would rather run everywhere else to try to be healed instead of sitting under the power of God.
Yes, it takes some time to be healed through some pains; but God is faithful. His Word promises abundant life and He’s given everything we need to live a powerful walk of victory. He promises we can overcome all things, and ALL means all.
If you can believe Him to forgive all your sins, why can you not believe Him to heal all your pain and sorrow?? Either His Word is true or it is not true. It cannot be true and not true at the same time. The inconsistency always lies within us. Do not mix your philosophy with God’s Word. You will be found lacking. Let God be true and every man a liar.
Be honest with yourself. “Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
”Isaiah 53:4-5 “For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” Isaiah 57:15 “He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.”Psalms 147:3 #runyourrace
