THE WHOLE TRUTH and nothing but the truth. A friend was running for re-election in our district a few years back and his competition put out a commercial calling him, “Toxic Mark” because he voted against a pollution initiative. The commercial stated that Mark didn’t care about the environment. We laughed because we knew the whole truth.
Was it true that he voted against this initiative? Yes. But the reason being he promised his constituents he would not vote for anything that raised taxes and this would raise taxes. He kept his word. Interesting how a little spin on something can change the whole story. I wonder how many people believed the lie instead of digging for the truth? Honestly, I find it disgusting.
I cannot tell you how many times stories circulate about myself and the pastor and what he did or did not do; but of course, it’s not the whole truth. One time ESPN reported that my husband was Russell Wilson’s pastor. Another news site reported that we preached about him and hung his Jersey on the church’s walls.
If you told me these things were reported about our church I would have told you that you were crazy. But I had read it with my own eyes. What a joke! But how many people believed the false report? Maybe this has happened to you on your job, with your friend group, in the church, or right now with the media where Satan is deceiving so many. This is a false accusation. “You shall not circulate a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.” Exodus 23:1
You are under an obligation to the whole truth, not your gossiping friend or else you’ll find yourself accusing the innocent. Don’t believe everything you hear. There’s an old saying that’s been attributed to different people that reads, “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” Why are people so quick to just believe as fact everything they hear? Is the person speaking even trustworthy? Do they have an agenda? Are they offended? An offended person cannot help but tell you why they are offended and why you should be against those they are against.
An offense has an ugly and evil agenda. I can tell you this concerning the media: they have an agenda and a bias. There’s a reason for the saying, “If it bleeds it leads”. The world is being groomed. If you want the truth, talk to all involved so you get a full report. Dig for the truth. If you do not care about the truth, then do not be surprised when destruction comes to your home. At the very least do not spread the lie or you too will be found guilty. “Keep yourself far from a false matter; do not kill the innocent and righteous. For I will not justify the wicked.” Exodus 23:7 #runyourrace
