WHO REMEMBERS when RG3 was released from the Redskins? I guess you can’t say that anymore, but I digress. I read an article concerning this brilliant young quarterback who went from Heisman trophy winner to 3rd string QB with no play time. Why? Because the NFL chewed him up and spit him out. They played him, used him, severely injured him, and then when they were done threw him back to the wolves. I don’t like it, but that’s the game. It’s not personal, it’s business. I look at my own life and the people that have NFL’ed me.
Psychologists have a term for these type of people, there called “interpersonally exploitive”. They come into relationship with you only to use what you can provide for them and as soon as they’re done, leave the relationship, never to be heard from again. What do you do? Forgive them. Be kind. Be respectful. However, the best wisdom I ever got about these types of abusers was to love them from a distance.
You do not have to be in a relationship with everyone. 2 Tim 3:1-5 gives us a list of people to avoid:“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!”And many of these will claim to be in Christ, but their unrighteous actions prove themselves to be an enemy of the c
ross. I am utterly sick of those who scoff and mock godly men and women preaching against sin and godlessness and at the same time claim to know Him. This is what Israel did to the prophets. He that has hears to hear… From such people turn away! Keep your heart pure and your hands clean. Do not pay them back for their evil, this is the Lord’s job. Forgive and do not hold an offense, this will only harm you. Be kind, but you don’t have to stay in an NFL relationship.#runyourrace
