ASK WHAT I SHALL GIVE YOU. God offered to give Solomon whatever he asked for. His requests for wisdom was in order to help him rule the people well. It was an honorable request that God was pleased with and so God added even more, “-wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have the like.”” II Chronicles 1:12
Wisdom, a wise and discerning heart that sees and evaluated everything from God’s point of view and His Word, is one of the greatest treasures in life. God desires for His people to operate in wisdom. Unfortunately, a lot do not. You cannot operate in the flesh and in wisdom. The flesh is ego-centric while wisdom is Theo-centric.
Wisdom not only knows what God says, but obeys His Word faithfully. Wisdom diligently studies the Word to learn His ways and prays continually, seeking God’s will and putting on the mind of Christ. Wisdom is slow to speak and quick to listen. Wisdom departs from evil. Oh that God’s people operated according to wisdom! You could spend a lifetime studying just the Proverbs and be wiser than most. Ask for wisdom and God will give it to you; but be faithful to persevere according to that wisdom and follow all His ways so that you may end well and not end as King Solomon. #runyourrace
