WALKING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND. Welp. It’s winter time. Wednesday afternoon it starting snowing pretty hard and so Thursday’s morning run was in the snow. We don’t have winter vehicles up here like other areas that get a lot of snow. A little snow will shut us down. The trees look pretty barren and ugly in the winter time because all the leaves have changed colors and are now dead. But with snow on them, they look pretty.

However, the snow allows for a natural pruning. Certain branches get heavy and fall off. It’s the tree’s way of getting rid of dead branches in preparation for spring growth. There’s a sermon in there, but not today’s daily. Most things don’t grow in the winter season. In fact, they can look ugly and dead. But God said that He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

“But concerning the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the burning bush passage, how God spoke to him, saying, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living. You are therefore greatly mistaken.” Mark‬ ‭12‬:‭26‬-‭27‬

Just because it appears dead does not mean it is dead. I have heard several times from the Holy Spirit that it is in the winter season, when everything appears dead and you see no signs of life that God will show up in a miraculous way. When it looks dead to the world, the Lord says, “it’s not dead, it’s just laying dormant” and God gets the glory when it is revitalized.

“He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9‬:‭24‬ ‭

For the last two years, the world has been in a winter season. And I hate to tell you this, but it’s going to get worse. Deception is deep and thick. The great apostasy is happening, most Christians do not have a Biblical worldview and have fallen away from the Faith. Fear is rampant. A recession has been forecasted. In the natural, things appear hopeless. Culture has lost its mind and our country is falling further into evil. However, in the last two years, the saints in our church have flourished miraculously under the strictest governorship.

I can’t count how many people upgraded houses and started a business when everything in the natural said the opposite. We have had two babies born in the past few months and seven more on the way. I have heard of promotion after promotion after promotion. The church lost people but our tent pegs were enlarged. When others churches have died, we are alive and thriving. Salvations are in abundance and people are being born again of the Holy Spirit.

I have heard three times now that 2023 will be a year of miracles for those who draw near. When it appears dead, God will show up in a miraculous way. Things we have been praying and believing to come to fruition for years will come forth suddenly. Healings and health will burst forth in miraculous fashion. It is in the winter season when by all natural appearances things are dead and it seems impossible that God shows up in a mighty way.

“And the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.””

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭18‬:‭13‬-‭14‬ ‭

When all hope seems lost and by all appearances, it is dead; God will show up. When there’s no natural explanation, God does the miraculous so that all will know that there is a God in heaven who has power over dead things. What does this mean to you? Do not fear and do not doubt. Trust the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. When everyone else cries, “It’s dead!” Can these dry bones live? Be ready for a resurrection.
