JUST SHUT YER PIEHOLE. Want some peace? Shut up. Want to appear wise? Quiet your yapper. Want less strife in your life? Be quiet! Do you want to please God? Then stop talking to everyone about everyone and talk to God. “Where there is no wood, the fire goes out; And where there is no talebearer, strife ceases. As charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire, So is a contentious man to kindle strife.” Proverbs‬ ‭26:20-21

‬ ‭One of the biggest problems in a church, family, neighborhood, or community is that one small part of the body called the “tongue”. A contentious man produces strife. Why? Most often a contentious person finds a problem with another person, then instead of trying to work it out with THAT person; goes to other people with itchy ears and tells them all their woes to gain an alliance. Are you tracking with me? If YOU cause someone to have a problem with someone that YOU have a problem with; then YOU are in sin.

God is not pleased with the slandering of the brethren. You may not “like” everyone, but you better not speak maliciously about them. You better seek to work out your differences. If they refuse, then take it to an unbiased party for intervention. We are all commanded to seek peace and reconciliation in the Body above all else. Words are powerful and you can destroy a whole community with your tongue. Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there. If you’ve been wronged, God is big enough to handle it, but you can destroy everything with your tongue. Zip it. Zip it good. #runyourrace
